Community Council
Every residence community has a group of student leaders who represent their fellow residents. These students plan programming based on their community’s wants and needs. Programming can range from social gatherings to professional development workshops and advocacy initiatives.
Community Councils are overseen by RHA. Council members will attend a Fall Leadership conference to learn about their roles and responsibilities. RHA Reps will attend bi-weekly General Body Meetings hosted by RHA to discuss topics such as allocation requests, events, initiatives, and elections.
Every year, Community Councils also compete with each other to win the Council Cup. There are several incentives to getting points, such as hosting events, collaborating with other councils, writing Of-The-Months (OTMs) and more. Students and advisors are recognized for their achievements at the End-of-Year Banquet hosted by RHA and NRHH in April.
If you are interested in joining Community Council, you can email rha@uga.edu with your name and residence hall.
