Who are the members of RHA?

Every resident living in a hall on-campus is a member of the Residence Hall Association.

How many leadership positions does your organization offer?

Our Exec is comprised of a president, vice president, national communications coordinator (NCC), treasurer, director of communications (DOC), secretary, historian, residential life advocate (RLA), and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) executive director. These positions are all mirrored on hall councils, with the exception of the NRHH ED.

Does your organization require dues, fees, or any other mandatory financial obligation for members?

No! All events hosted by RHA are covered by your housing programming fee.

What are some advantages to expect from an RHA program?

We provide an educational experience where students can come together and have opportunities to learn and practice skills that promote student success and to create thriving communities.

7 p.m.-9p.m.

What are RHA’s signature events?

At the beginning of the fall semester, we host a half-day conference called Exec ‘N’ Rec to train the newly elected members of community councils. This day features seminars hosted by our Exec focused on teaching RHA representatives how to be successful student leaders on campus and in their residence halls. We host a horror film screening called Scream on the Green around the end of October every year, as well. This event is historically held on Myers Quad and features free snacks in a picnic-style program which focuses on sustainability. We also hold Taste of Athens each semester where residents can try food from various restaurants in the Athens area.

The RHA Office is located in Creswell Hall room 111.

How can I further my involvement with RHA?

In the Fall, Community Councils hold elections during the first 4-weeks of the school year in each community. If you are looking to take your student leadership experience further within housing, the RHA exec board holds spring elections to be a part of the RHA leadership team for the next academic year.  In addition, the National Residence Hall Honorary- RHA’s sister organization, holds elections for their executive board which focuses on leadership, recognition and service as well.

What is NRHH?

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is the sister organization of RHA. NRHH has their own function to further benefit RHA and University Housing. The National Residence Hall Honorary is focused on promoting community service and recognition through Housing. The three tenets of NRHH are leadership, service, and recognition. Are we recognized nationally?

Yes, we are! As an organization, we represent the University of Georgia to the rest of the region and the nation. GRHO is the Georgia Residence Hall Organization, which is our state governing body. SAACURH is the South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls, and it hosts a myriad of programs and conferences throughout the year. Lastly, NACURH is the National Association of College and University Residence Halls and is an opportunity to showcase what we as student leaders are doing within our region and respective institutions.

Do I need to bring my UGA ID to any events?

Yes! At each and every RHA event, your valid UGA ID with your valid Housing sticker on it will be required. The events we put on are for students living on campus exclusively. Your ID and sticker prove to us that you do in fact, currently live on campus.
