National Residence Hall Honorary

FAQ

What is the National Residence Hall Honorary? The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a component of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated (NACURH). NRHH is a leadership-based honorary comprised of exemplary residential students who value recognition and service. We offer a multitude of volunteering and personal development programs for our members throughout campus and our surrounding community. Our colors are blue and white which symbolize loyalty to self-purpose/ideals and the blank page we each start out with, respectively. Our symbol is the diamond that exemplifies value and beauty. The three links of our chains also represent caring, dedication, and participation.

What do we do?
NRHH focuses on promoting community service and recognition through Housing. Chapter members participate in social, scholastic, and service events to promote personal growth and development. And on Wednesdays we wear blue! #DiamondPride

Who is a member?
NRHH consists of the top 1% of student leaders living on campus. This includes Resident Assistants, CLASS Advocates, RHA Hall Council Members and residents.

How can I apply?
Applications to join NRHH open every Fall and Spring and are followed by an induction ceremony at the end of each semester. Requirements to join NRHH include
- Having lived in a residence hall for at least one year.
- Having made a positive contribution to the residence hall system (for example: participating in community council and/or their events, RA/CA, DA/OA, actively building community in your hall, etc.)
- Being in good standing with the University of Georgia
- Having at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.

What if I haven’t lived on campus for a least one year yet but still want to be a part of NRHH?
Each semester we induct a number of Candidate Members! These members have shown an interest through intent to become a member and can use this status to actively be a part of our organization until full membership can be achieved.

What is an OTM?
An OTM is an Of the Month award! These are one way we recognize not only our members but other housing staff & residents throughout the year. Anyone can write an OTM if they feel a colleague or friend has made an outstanding contribution to the community during the month of the nomination. Categories include desk attendant, resident assistant, first year student, and more! (More information available on the link below)

When does your organization meet?
Every other Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

When do you hold your service events?
We typically hold one passive and one active service event per month. The days and times of these events vary depending on the composition of the program.
