Sustainability – Move-In Recycling

Move-in recycling saves items from reaching the landfill

In efforts to reduce our collective impact during move-in week, University Housing encourages new residents to “Unpack Before You Pack.” This can be done by unboxing items and properly disposing of the cardboard, Styrofoam, and plastic film at home prior to moving to the residence halls.

“Unbox at Home” starts at :15

If you forget to “Unpack Before Your Pack”, residents will notice temporary locations where they can easily recycle large amounts of their packing items. These items are usually cardboard boxes, Styrofoam, and plastic film.

University Housing will have locations nearby each hall where students can recycle these large quantities during move-in.

Cardboard boxes (among other accepted items) can be recycled year-round nearby each resident hall. Check your residence hall’s webpage for location of your nearby year-round recycling dumpster.
