Housing Staff Support
While on campus, each group will work directly with a residence hall director or another University Housing team member who will be present during the group’s check in and checkout. These individuals will be available to assist with any issues or concerns that may arise during your stay. These full-time staff members, as well as student staff members, are on call each evening and weekend.
The building’s front desk is staffed 24-hours a day during each group’s stay to ensure a secure stay for all guests. If someone in your group has been locked out of their room, has a facilities-related work request or needs to speak with the staff on call, the desk staff is there to help! Please note that the front desk is not permitted to hold items for any guest at any time.
Group Sponsor Responsibilites
Although housing staff will assist in the event of an emergency, group sponsors are expected to manage the behavior of their guests. Group sponsors are expected to know housing policies and communicate them to their participants.
Cleaning And Maintenance
Housing facilities staff will ensure spaces are clean upon arrival and that community bathrooms are cleaned daily. All camp and conference participants are expected to cooperate with facilities team members.
If there is something wrong with a room that requires a work request, please contact the 24-hour front desk.
Internet Access
University of Georgia visitors may access the guest wireless network, UGA_Visitors_Wifi, while on campus.
UGA_Visitors_Wifi is self-service. You can find instructions for accessing this network on the EITS Help Desk site.
Keys And Access Cards
All conference residence halls require card access to enter the residential areas and keys to enter each room. Group sponsors will work with University Housing to determine card access needs prior to arrival; access cards will not be provided to minors. Guests are only given keys to their assigned room and are expected to keep their room doors locked at all times to protect the security of their belongings. Should a participant lock themselves out of their room, the 24-hour front desk can issue a temporary key.
Any keys and/or access cards issued to individual guests must be returned during checkout. Failure to return the keys and access cards will result in a fee for each instance.
Laundry
Laundry facilities are in each building and are available for no additional fee. Instructions for use for the machines are posted in each laundry room. Guests are responsible for providing their own detergent.
Mail Delivery
Unfortunately, we are not able to process mail for guests during the summer.
Trash And Recycling
Room trash and recycling receptacles are available, as well as larger bins on each floor. Participants are responsible for removing all trash and recycling from their rooms and placing it in the dumpsters adjacent to the building at the time of checkout.
Vending
Vending machines are in every residence hall. Some vending machines accept cash and change, but most only accept card or Apple, Android or Samsung Pay. For refunds or issues with the machine, each machine has a QR code that can be scanned and a report filed.
Kitchen
Kitchens with sinks, ovens, stoves and microwaves are located throughout the residence halls. Food that is cooking must never be left unattended, and participants are responsible for cleaning the kitchen after use.
