UGA housing registration information

Hi Bulldogs,

Congratulations on your acceptance to UGA! We look forward to welcoming you to campus next fall.

All first-year students are required to live on campus so—now that you have been accepted—please apply for housing as soon as possible (registration is open now). Registering for housing does not commit you to the University of Georgia; it only puts you in line for selecting the space of your choice after the May 1 commitment deadline.

For most students, room selection works on an appointment system based on when you complete your housing registration and pay the non-fundable registration fee. UGA is committed to housing all incoming first-year students but, the earlier you register, the more priority you’ll have in choosing your space.

STEP 1
Set up your UGA MyID and password and download the ArchPass, powered by Duo (UGA’s two-factor authentication) app.
Log onto The Dawg House with your UGA MyID and password (and DUO Mobile authentication) and register for RESIDENCE HALLS FOR 2026-2027.

STEP 2
Visit the New Student Hub for everything you need to know about housing, including timelines, resources, and a 360-degree virtual tour of all the halls. Follow us on social media (@UGAHousing) to see what to expect when you are here next year and hear about the on-campus experience from current on-campus students.

You are also invited to attend an informational webinar for first-year students and their supporters:

Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. Eastern
Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m. Eastern
Wednesday, April 29 at 7 p.m. Eastern

STEP 3
Explore your options at housing.uga.edu. Online, you’ll find rates, amenities, maps, a virtual tour, photos, room plans and videos to help you decide on your ideal on-campus space. You’ll also find information about Living Learning Communities that integrate academics and residence life such as the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community and Franklin Residential College.

STEP 4
Watch our YouTube video about finding a roommate.

  • To search for a roommate or designate someone you already know as a roommate; most students will want to start by creating or joining a roommate group. The only way to ensure you live with your preferred roommate is to create or join a roommate group in The Dawg House.
  • Create a roommate group if…
You want to search for other students by their profile name or if you want to search for other students by answers to the roommate profile questions
    • Groups can be comprised of up to two students of the same gender and class standing (for example, both students in a group must be first-year students). If you start a group but do not add anyone to it, you will still be able to continue through the room selection process as a group of one
  • Join a roommate group if…
You already know the group name and password for your desired roommate
    • You can only be in one group at a time. If you join a group after already being in another group, you will be removed from your original group. The group member in the original group will remain in the group
  • Do not create or join a roommate group if…
You do not want to search for or designate a roommate

Check your email throughout the spring, so you don’t miss important information about your chance to choose a space (which will happen after the university’s May 1 commitment deadline). Please note: after you have paid the commitment deposit, email messages will only be sent to your UGA email address.

University Housing staff are available Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Eastern time) to answer your questions. You are welcome to email, call or visit our website using the contact information below.

Go Dawgs!
