Hi ___,
University Housing is looking for friendly and energetic students to assist with move-in this August. All new first year students are welcome to volunteer. Move-in is an annual event featuring more than 300 student volunteers who help to welcome the first-year class to the University of Georgia. Each student volunteer has a particular role: working in the parking lots, directing students and their families to the right locations for check-in and move in, helping with sustainability efforts, and other duties that help to make the move-in process as smooth as possible. This is a wonderful way to meet a lot of new people before school even starts!
Volunteers are the largest part of the move-in process–other than new students and their families! For participating, volunteers can move in early (see information below), receive 2 free t-shirts, and free breakfast and lunch on the days they volunteer. Volunteers are required to work one 4-hour shift each day, Friday-Saturday. (two 4-hour shifts)
Note: If you are participating in sorority recruitment you will not be able to volunteer with Hunker Down. The schedules will not allow enough time for both opportunities.
Important Information:
- Volunteer move-in: Thursday, August 13, 11:00 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Volunteer training (mandatory): August 13 at 6 p.m.
- Move-in Dates: Friday, August 14-Saturday, August 15
If you have any questions about move-in, you can call us at 706-542-3395 or email us at hsg-hunkerdown@uga.edu
