University Housing

Building 1516, Boggs, Brown, Brumby, Church, Creswell, Hill, Lipscomb, Mary Lyndon, Mell, Morris, Myers, Oglethorpe, Russell, Rutherford and Soule Halls will close at noon on Saturday, March 7. The halls will re-open at 8 a.m. on Sunday March 15, 2015. Family and Graduate Housing, East Campus Village, Payne and Reed Halls will not close for speing break.

Before leaving, make sure to:

□ Take your prescription medications and other essentials

□ Close and lock all windows

□ Close window blinds

□ Remove all trash from your room

□ Turn off all lights

□ Lock your door

Your room will be inspected by staff to ensure that you have completed the steps outlined on the checklist. Failure to follow the above checklist may result in a fee or policy violation. Failure to vacate your residence hall by noon on Saturday, March 7 may result in a policy violation.

Your mail will not be forwarded during spring break. If you are expecting an important package or letter, make all arrangements to assure that you receive it no later than Friday March 6.  

Please note that you will not have access to the halls after they close on Saturday, March 7; so please make sure to take with you what you will need for the break.

Your resident assistant (RA), along with other residence hall staff in your community, should be able to answer any questions that you may have.

All undergraduate students interested in learning more about University of Georgia academic majors and minors are invited to attend the Majors Fair. The Majors Fair will also allow students to receive information about other academic opportunities offered at UGA. Come and meet with  professional advisors to discuss a variety of possible majors as well as many available career opportunities connected to each major.

The University Housing main office will close today at 1:30 p.m. Residents who need maintenence issues resolved may still place a work order online 24-hours a day for problems such as insufficient heat, slippery walkways and any weather or non-weather related issues. Changes to programming are as follows:

• The Green on the Screen showing of A Fierce Green Fire has been rescheduled for March 18 at 7 p.m. in Rooker Hall's fireside lounge.

• Today's majors fair has been postponed; new date and time TBA
