Residence Hall Contract
In order to reside on campus a student must execute a residence hall contract. The contract defines the terms and conditions of occupancy, beginning and ending dates, rental rate and procedures for termination. It is each student's responsibility to be familiar with the content of the contract. Contracts are for the academic year (fall and spring terms) unless the student is assigned to an ECV hall designated for 11.5 months (fall, spring and summer terms).

Residence hall contracts are not reciprocal with Greek letter organizations on campus. Students whose membership may affect where they live should take that into consideration before making any university housing commitment. For information on Greek housing, contact the Greek Life Office.

Terminating a Contract
Students may cancel their housing contract while remaining enrolled at the university by paying a 50 percent cancellation fee.

For all first-year students, termination of your contract may result in the failure to comply with the UGA first year live-on requirement, which may lead to cancellation of enrollment and revocation of student status at the University of Georgia .

Students no longer enrolled at UGA may terminate their contract without penalty if the student completes a written request that is received to the Housing Assignments Office by the deadline stated in the contract. Other fees may apply – please review details in the residence hall contract. A resident in ECV with an 11.5 month contract may not cancel the summer portion of the contract based upon enrollment status. For more information, contact the Housing Assignments Office in Russell Hall at 706-542-1421.
