East Campus Village

Registration and Room Assignment

When should I register to live on campus?
Register as soon as possible on The Dawg House after being accepted to the University of Georgia. Preferences are awarded based on date and time of registration, so the sooner you register the better your chances of getting the assignment you want. Priority for roommate pairs are based on the last date and time registered, so make sure your preferred roommate registers as soon as possible. More specific information is located in the Assignment Policies section.

How are students notified of a housing assignment?
E-mails will be sent to the UGA email adress of the student when an assignment is made. Timelines and Deadlines provides information about the process for a first-year student coming in the fall term.

How can I apply for a private room?
A very limited number of single rooms are available within the traditional residence halls. Students should expect to be assigned a roommate. Residents may request for one of these rooms online beginning the first day of classes, with all requests processed in the order in which they have been received. Inquire at your community office during check in for more information. Be advised that there are generally very few single rooms available; waiting lists are utilized to ensure requests are processed in the order in which they are received.

How can I keep the same room for the following school year?
A large percentage of spaces are reserved for incoming first-year students, so availability is limited and most students should expect a different assignment for the next year. Information about returning room sign-up will be provided in December. During the spring term, residents are given the opportunity to sign up for a room on campus the following fall term.
