Move-Out
Below are the three key steps for moving out of Family and Graduate Housing:
- Contract Cancellation Request. It is important that residents complete the Contract Cancellation Request by the stated deadlines within the contract to avoid being assessed any late charges.
- Pre-Checkout Meeting. Once a resident has filed a contract cancellation request, a pre-checkout meeting will be scheduled a resident manager. The resident will also receive a booklet that will guide the resident through the checkout process. During the pre-checkout meeting, the resident manager will discuss checkout expectations and verify the date and time for the official checkout appointment.
- Final Checkout Meeting. Once again, residents are encouraged to adhere to their scheduled checkout appointment. Failure to do so may result in late checkout fees being assessed. It is important that the resident has followed the previously supplied instructions having thoroughly cleaned the apartment and removed all of his or her belongings. In addition, items may not be left in storage rooms, or on the breezeway/ patio to be removed later. During the final checkout appointment, the resident manager and the resident will examine the empty apartment utilizing the Apartment Inventory Form, completed during the check-in process.
