Visiting Scholars Housing
University Housing is pleased to offer accommodations for both national and international visiting scholars and guests at the University of Georgia’s Health Sciences Campus, located on Prince Avenue.
Short-term and long-term housing is provided for single individuals, couples, small families or small groups in townhomes. Long-term housing for couples, families, and transitioning faculty/staff is available in single-family houses.
Due to the growing popularity for this type of housing, you are encouraged to apply as soon as you have confirmed the actual arrival and departure dates for your visit. Requests for reservations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. For our international visitors and guest, it is extremely important that you also have all of the paperwork associated with your visa approved prior to your application being submitted. This will assist us in managing any scheduling issues that may arise.
Eligibility:
Each visiting scholar or guest must be sponsored by an UGA department or program. In addition, the requested reservation must be for at least five (5) consecutive nights and not more than 365 consecutive nights without an exception being granted. Generally, requests from individuals visiting campus as part of their post-doctoral work will only be considered after all other requests are satisfied for the designated time period.
Guests have the ability to rent entire units or may opt to share common living spaces within a unit with one or two more visitors. In this case, each guest will be assigned a private bedroom with a full size bed. In some cases, guests will share bathrooms. Shared units are assigned to scholars of the same gender, unless otherwise requested. Rent includes the use of all furnishings, appliances, parking at the unit and utilities.
